Tips On How To Help With the Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief
On Thursday, July 28th, many people in Eastern Kentucky woke up to devastating floods that tore through the region. Sadly, we lost 37 lives due to the flooding and loved ones are still missing. The flooding has torn families apart and left many stranded, but Kentuckians are strong and have banded together to help one another pull through this disaster. If you are looking to donate to the relief fund, here are some ways you can help.
Governor Beshear has stated that a monetary donation and gift cards are the most helpful at this time. Gift cards to Walmart, Kroger, and other grocery stores will help those impacted to buy groceries and other necessities they are currently without. The Governor has also discouraged people from donating clothing because there isn’t a need at this time. Plus, it takes up too much space with little to no storage available. Anyone with trade skills such as construction, plumbing, and electrical work are encouraged to reach out to help in building back the businesses and homes lost in the flooding.
