Today is the first day of fall which means it's officially apple picking season! We know that pumpkin seems to be the top runner in fall produce these days, but we think apples should get just as much spotlight too. Woodford Reserve presents the 2013 Dining Out for Life campaign on December 4th to benefit AVOL, AIDS Volunteers, Inc. When you dine at one of the locally owned, participating restaurants, each establishment will donate a minimum of 25% of your bill to AVOL. 2013 Repair Affair

Milestone Realty Consultants Realtors and staff joined together last week to help with the 2013 Repair Affair, sponsored by the Realtor-Community Housing Foundation and the Remodelers Council. The event was held Thursday and Friday, May 9th and 10th.  Workers spent two days helping Ms. Helen Offutt, a widow in the Lexington community. Her home was in need of landscaping, painting, and general home repair.

Our volunteers started working at 8:00am Thursday morning. They began by tearing down large bushes of honeysuckle and poison ivy that had grown on the side of the home.


LAMArama 2013

Looking for some fun and entertainment this weekend? Check out the LAMArama 2013, presented by the Lexington Area Music Alliance. This year's event will be held at Natasha's Bistro in downtown Lexington this Saturday, March 2nd.

LAMArama is a daylong series of educational workshops and live music geared toward Lexington's growing music community. The workshops will begin at 10:00 and will feature Danny Williams of Barry Mando Project/Lexington Music Lab and Kentucky Arts Council Performing Artist, Heath Eric. In the evening, the fun continues with live performances by locally-based musicians. The admission to the workshops is free. There is a $5 cover for the musical performances. ...

There’s no question that, for some people, football is a religion. We all know someone who is a die-hard (insert team name here) fan. They have traditions and superstitions that would make your head spin. Dining Out for Life 2012

This Wednesday, November 28th, 30 restaurants across the Bluegrass state will be joining in the fight against AIDS by participating in the 3rd annual Dining Out for Life event. Patrons who dine at these local restaurants for breakfast, lunch, or dinner will have at least 25% of their check donated to AIDS Volunteers, Inc. (AVOL).
Patrons can also register to win great prizes by filling out the donation envelope at each restaurant. If you donate $25 or more, you’ll get a "20%-Off Tuesdays" card that will give you an extra discount at participating Dining Out for Life restaurants on any Tuesday in 2013 (excluding major holidays). Prizes include a Woodford Reserve VIP tour, a set of four tires from S&S Tire, a year's tickets to The Kentucky Theatre, and Michael Gaines couture jewelry.

Big Blue Nation Cares Telethon

Tonight, the University of Kentucky men's basketball team, along with other local celebrities will be working a fund raising telethon in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in the New York and New Jersey areas.

The phone lines will be open from 6pm-9pm to take donations towards the American Red Cross. There will also be an online auction for items donated by local businesses, with the proceeds benefitting relief efforts. Items in the auction include a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, tickets to next year's Barnstable-Brown Derby Eve Gala, Lower Arena UK basketball tickets, and autographed framed posters signed by Coach John Calipari.

Sponsored by Friends of the Dog Park and LFUCG's Parks and Recreation, this annual fundraiser benefits amenities of local dog parks.
