Kentucky is made up of 120 counties deemed the "Bluegrass State". The nickname stems from the native grass having a blue tint and when uncut can grow up to three feet. Our fertile soil is ideal for livestock, particularly thoroughbred horses, giving Kentucky the reputation for being the "Horse Capital of the World". Our beautiful rolling hillside's are just as easily complemented by some of our larger metropolitan areas. That's what makes Kentucky so desirable; it's a beautifully, balanced mixture of country and city life.
