Central Kentucky July 4th Celebrations

Lots of events are going on this week for the July 4th holiday. Here’s a list of the events going on around Central Kentucky!

Berea:

4th of July Spectacular, Thursday, July 4th from 5pm-9pm

Fireworks, children’s activities, and live entertainment will be held throughout the evening. Activities will be held at Berea City Park.

At 7:00pm, visit the Jammin’ on the Porch session at Cabin Porch. Bring your instrument and join in with other local artists in an impromptu jam session.

Frankfort:

Old Fashioned Fourth of July, Thursday, July 4, 2:00pm-4:00pm, Liberty Hall Historic Site

Join us for an old-fashioned celebration of America’s 237th Birthday! There will be patriotic music, free watermelon slices, a craft for kids, and game on the lawn. Enter your red, white and blue dessert for a chance to win a prize in our fouth annual baking contest.

 

Georgetown:

Scott County’s Annual Fourth of July Parade, Thursday, July 4th

Parade begins 11 a.m. on Main Street. Other events will be held throughout the day at Brooking Park. For more information, visit www.georgetownky.com.

 

Lexington:

Fourth of July Festival, Tuesday, July 2nd – Friday, July 5th

Tuesday, July 2nd:

Great American Pie Contest and Ice Cream Social at Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park 12:00-1:00pm, featuring performances from Young At Heart Jazz Band.

Wednesday, July 3rd:

Patriotic Music Concert Featuring the Lexington Philharmonic & Lexington Singers at Transylvania University and Gratz Park 8:00pm. The Young At Heart Jazz Band will perform in Gratz Park from 5:30-7:30pm.

Thursday, July 4th:

Bluegrass 10,000 Foot Race 7:30am – enjoy live music from Still Kickin’ at the end of the race course from 8:00-10:00!

Downtown Street Festival 9:00am-6:00pm

Entertainment Sites: Cheapside Park, History Museum on Short, Centrepointe Lot, Phoenix Park, Upper Courthouse Plaza

Kids Zone in Billboard Parking Lot, corner of Short and N. Limestone, Children’s Free Craft Activities, 10:00am-2:00pm

Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Main Street and Fifth Third Bank Following the BG 10,000 Awards Ceremony

          Parade from Midland Avenue down Main Street to Broadway 2:00pm

          Central Bank Thursday Night Live, Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park 7:30-9:30

Downtown Fireworks Presented by RJ Corman 10:00pm

Friday, July 5th:

           Red, White & BOOM Concert at Whitaker Bank Ballpark

 Central Kentucky July 4th Celebrations

 

Richmond:

Fireworks Extravaganza, Thursday July 4, 4:00pm-10:00pm, Lake Reba Recreational Complex

Food Vendors will begin serving at 4:00pm and the Chick-fil-A Kids Zone will be open from 5:00pm-8:30pm. Enjoy live music from bands Matt and Shawn, George Burdette & Friends, and Faded Blue. Fireworks will begin at 10:00pm. There will be a $5 parking charge per car.

Versailles:

July Fourth Celebration, Thursday July 4, gates open at 4:30pm, Woodford Co. Park

Live music by Eddie Barber and Off The Wagon beginning at 6:00pm. Firework show will begin at dusk. $4 per person, $12 per carload. Children under 6 are free.

 

Wilmore:

Festival of the Fourth, Thursday, July 4, downtown Wilmore

Parade begins at 10:00am with the festival immediately following the parade (approximately 11:00am) at Wilmore Campground. Enjoy the craft fair, spelling bee, and the Best Cupcakes Contest for youths under 16. Other activities include children and family games, food, and live entertainment featuring the Jessamine Jazz Ensemble.
