Spring has (finally) started to show up here in Central Kentucky! Here are a few events taking place in the upcoming weeks here in the Bluegrass!
Central Bank Thursday Night Live Kickoff: April 4th
Join us in Downtown Lexington every Thursday evening, April 4 through October 31, for the 2013 Central Bank Thursday Night Live concert series! Come to Cheapside Park from 4:30pm – 7:30pm for beverages, tasty food and of course, great music by live bands! There is no admission charge to come and listen to the bands play – food and beverages will be available for purchase on a cash basis.
Keeneland’s Spring Meet: April 5th-26th
Keeneland’s 2013 Spring Race Meeting opens on Friday, April 5 and continues through Friday, April 26, with no racing on Monday or Tuesday. Gates open at 11:00 am, post time for the first race is at 1:05pm, with races running approximately every half hour. General admission is $5, children 12 and under get in for free.
Central Kentucky Home, Garden and Flower Show: April 4th-7th
The Central Kentucky Home, Garden and Flower Show is the largest and longest running show of its kind in Kentucky. Whether it’s the latest in remodeling or energy saving products, outdoor living spaces, landscaping ideas, a new kitchen, or a room addition, we have it all and it’s all for you. The show runs Thursday and Friday from 5:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday from 10:00am-9:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00pm-6:00pm at the Lexington Center Heritage Hall and Rupp Arena. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and children 14 and under are free.
Lexington Legends Opening Night: April 8th
The 2013 season kicks off at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Monday, April 8 at 7:05pm against the defending SAL Champions, Asheville Tourists. Opening Night will consist of Members Heritage Federal Credit Union KIDS EAT FREE where all Kids 12 & under receive a voucher good for a FREE meal. Bluegrass Farmers Market, April 13th
The Bluegrass Farmers Market provides 100% locally grown/produced products. They grow, raise, bake or make what they sell. You can purchase a wide assortment of vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit, farm fresh eggs, local honey, jams, soaps, herb rub, baked goods and much more! You can find the Farmers Market at 3450 Richmond Rd on Saturdays from 9:00am-2:00pm and on Tuesdays from 3:00pm-6:00pm.
