Milestone’s Cool Places-September 2012

October 2nd, 2012

Each month, Realtor Meredith Lane of Milestone Realty Consultants and Senior Loan Officer Jeff Sharp of Walden Mortgage visit the coolest restaurants, businesses and homes around Central Kentucky! This month, Meredith and Jeff visited Kelley Farms and Jean Farris Winery.

Kelley Farms is located at 6483 Old Richmond Road in Lexington, KY. Home to the Original Giant Corn Maze, Kelley Farms has been constructing different designs in their corn maze for 6 years. They’ve had everything from Abe Lincoln to Coach Calipari in their designs. This year, they pay homage to the 2011-2012 UK Wildcat Champion basketball team with a design of a basketball player dunking.

There are a lot of family-fun activities you can do at the farm. Besides the corn maze, there is a play area for children, hayrides, goat feed area, and a concession area. The farm is open Wednesdays through Saturdays until October 27th. General admission is $9.50 and children 2 and under get in for free. For more information, you can visit their website at www.lexcornmaze.com.

Jean Farris Winery and Bistro is located at 6825 Old Richmond Road in Lexington, KY. It is truly a hidden gem in the Lexington area. The wines are award-winning and the bistro offers fresh produce, fruits, and herbs grown directly on the property. The Winery and Restaurant are open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday 5:30-close, the Wine Tasting Bar is open Tuesday through Sunday 12-close, and Sunday Supper is from 12-close.
